The Thresholds of Change
Everyone faces change, but transitions are rarely straightforward.
Life-stage transitions, such as facing into adulthood, becoming an empty nester, or retirement.
Relationship transitions, such as dating, starting a new relationship, and leaving a long-term partner.
Work transitions, such as career change, stepping up into a leadership role, or becoming your own boss.
Health transitions, such a serious diagnosis, the onset of a chronic illness, addiction and recovery.
Sudden disruptions, such as accident or injury, financial collapse, or a reputation crisis.
Identity transitions, such as coming out or gender transition, or settling in to a new culture.
Loss, grief and endings, such as bereavement, the end of a significant relationship, or job loss.
Feeling stuck and can’t move forward?
Exploring what is holding you back can open up new possibilities and create a renewed sense of movement.
Struggling to adapt to a new reality?
Working through big changes allows you to grieve what’s been lost and gradually adjust to your new circumstances.
Facing a big decision, a fork in the road?
Therapy can bring clarity and perspective, helping you move forward in a way that feels grounded and true to you.
Therapeutic Approaches
Psychodynamic
Explore the unconscious patterns and early relationships that shape your current present thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
Cognitive
Identify and reshape unhelpful thought patterns while building tools for emotional regulation, and cultivate self-compassion and acceptance.
Transpersonal
Addresses the deeper dimensions of change, helping you find meaning, connection, and a sense of direction during life’s turning points.
About Me
I aim to support my clients in exploring their full potential in life.
I believe that humans have an inbuilt capability for healing. If obstacles are removed, we are free to grow into mature, fully realized adults – just as an acorn will naturally develop into an oak tree. My role as your therapist isn’t to “fix” you – it’s to help you identify blocks and patterns in your way, unlocking your own natural potential.
My background
I’ve worked with people from all walks of life. For many years, I was an advisor to senior leaders in business. I’ve worked with young offenders coming out of prison, people experiencing homelessness, and those struggling with addiction. I’ve sat in the client’s chair for hundreds of hours of my own personal therapy, and so I know how these conversations can help us make sense of life, with all its joys and sorrows.
Training
I am trained in an integration of different therapy approaches, which means I can adapt to each client’s needs as the therapy unfolds. The approaches I may work with include psychoanalytic (focusing on childhood development and early trauma), humanistic (looking at present experiences, beliefs and aspirations) and transpersonal (perhaps working with story, archetypes and dreams). I am also a qualified yoga teacher and may take a somatic perspective on our work together, looking at how trauma can be stored in the body.
How I work
We all have a deep need to be understood, to feel that another human gets it, and so I offer my clients an accepting, non-judgmental presence, so that together we can safely explore whatever difficulties are present.
An
Inclusive
Space
All are welcome, and all of everybody is welcome. I’ve worked with people who identify as queer, trans and non-binary, as well as people from a wide range of cultural, ethnic and racial backgrounds. I welcome clients of all faiths and none. I try not to make assumptions, but instead to meet each person as they are, with curiosity and respect.
